A complete, faster Mistborn sequence where metal magic meets guns, railways, crime, and modernizing cities.

This series takes place about three centuries after the original Mistborn trilogy. Its first novel assumes that the old era has become history and religion, so new readers should begin with Mistborn: The Final Empire when avoiding earlier-world spoilers matters.

The four Wax and Wayne books form a complete sequence, even though later Mistborn eras are planned in the same world.

Best if you want

  • Hard magic used inside mysteries, chases, and gunfights.
  • A complete Mistborn era with more humor and a smaller central cast.

Think twice if you need

  • A recommended entry before the original Mistborn trilogy.
  • Medieval epic fantasy or a story detached from wider Cosmere developments.
